Donald Eubanks is an associate professor and Field Director in the Social Work program at Metropolitan State University in St Paul, MN. Don’s career in social services started in the 70’s as a youth counselor at Home Away Inc., youth and community organizer for Ramsey Action Programs, program coordinator for the Fathers Resource Center and director of the Indian Teen Parent program for the Division of Indian Work. Recently, he was Commissioner of Health and Human Services for the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Indians, a political appointment he held twice. Between those appointments, Don was director of the Chemical Health Division for the State of Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) and director of Multicultural Affairs for the Chemical and Mental Health Services Administration. He’s served on many local and national boards. Currently he serves on the board for the American Indian Family Center. Don is also part of the award winning podcasts called “Counter Stories” with MPR news.

Don’s training experience ranges from management, homelessness, substance abuse, to American Indian culture and Tribal/Federal/State relations. Don holds a bachelor’s of social work from Metropolitan State University and a master’s in social work from the University of Minnesota.
