Mary Simonson Clark

Mary Simonson Clark has a BS in Occupational Therapy and a dual degree including an MA in Theology with an MSW in Social Work Program Development, Policy, and Administration. She received a Human Services Management Certificate, Diversity and Inclusion Certificate with Advanced Standing, and the Minneapolis Area Synod’s 2013 Leadership for a Missional Church award. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Association of Macro Practice Social Workers and holds a graduate Social Worker license.

Mary is an Adjunct Instructor and a Field Instructor for undergraduate and graduate Social Work programs at Augsburg, St. Catherine, and St. Thomas universities and facilitates in Luther Seminary’s Dismantling Racism course. She has been a project manager, pilot and program coordinator for an area campaign of a national initiative, and does partner engagement in North Minneapolis. As a volunteer, she has served on numerous committees, council, judicatory teams, a policy council, and a statewide organizing team.

Mary extensively researched congregational social service and justice advocacy. She is Researcher and Collective Narrative Developer for a congregational collaborative as well ase Research Fellow and training consultant with The Diversity Leadership Institute. Mary is a prolific writer, editor, and curricula developer.
